06/22/09        The Troy Bruins are proud to announce the Quality Inn in Troy, OH. as the official host hotel of the Troy Bruins and the UJHL visiting clubs and fans. 

06/21/09       Troy Bruins had great success in their tryouts this past weekend to begin completion of their roster for the the 2009-10 season.

06/18/09       The Philadelphia Thunder announced that they will be supplying all hockey sticks for their players for the 2009-10 season. The Thunder Organization

                   stated; "with the economy still affecting everyone, we feel that with this bonus for the players, it will take the strain of the financial burden off them

                   and their families, as they pay enough to play at this level as it is".

06/17/09        The Thunder sign Forward Justin Obrien from Elmira, NY. Justin played for the Elmira Jr. Jackals in the EJHBL last season, where he totaled 10

                    points in 40 games. Justin is familiar with the style of coaching as he was the stick boy for the Pro Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, where Coach

                    Simmons is the Team Head Scout and Video Coach.

06/17/09       The Thunder sign Forward Michael Materna from Mechanicsville, VA. for the 2009-10 season.

06/17/09       The Americans obtained the rights to Philadelphia Thunder forward, Brad Penk for future selected draft pick in the 2010 UJHL Draft.

06/16/09       The Bruins bring in Ernie Hicke as their Team Scout. Ernie played junior hockey starting in 1963 for the Regina Pats, before being called up into the

                  National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens organization. He continued his NHL career with such clubs as the Oakland Seals, Atlanta

                  Flames, New York Islanders, Minnesota North Stars and the Los Angeles Kings,. Ernie’s outstanding career had him playing in the NHL for 14 years

                  completing his career as an Assistant Coach/Player for the Dallas Blackhawks in the CHL winning a Championship there.

                 Gates out of Athens Ohio. Gates notched 33 points in 29 games for the Bobcats. The Oilers were happy to announce the signing of 1993 defenceman

                 Timothy Treloar of the Mahoning Valley Phantoms.

                 Columbus Blue Jackets to present the Blue Jackets Breakaway event at the 2009 Troy Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 6 from Noon to 6 pm

                between Hobart Arena and the levy.

    

                The breakaway event will take place on Saturday, June 6 from Noon till 6pm in the Hobart Arena parking lot next to the levy, and will include street

                hockey games, music, Blue Jackets and Bruins information and handouts, as well as a raffle for the very first Troy Bruins logoed jersey.
