07/30/09 The Preds sign Forward, Dave Gardner from Troy, NY who played for the Troy Eagles Jr. B Team last season in the MJHL. He posted 31 points in 40 games last year in the MJHL.
07/29/09 The Thunder have signed promissing defenseman, Matt Broderick from Milford, CT. Matt played H.S. Hockey and also played for the Hartford Wolfpack last season.
07/29/09 The Jets have hired Dr. Ian Katz as their Team Orthopedist, as well as Dr. Gary Minchau of Hilltop Dental Associates as their Team Dentist for the 2009-10 season.

07/28/09 The Thunder have brought on Matthew B. Marcus, ATC, D.C. for the 2009-10 season as their Team Chiropracter. Dr. Marcus graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University. He has been the Athletic Trainer or Chiropractic Physician for:

7/22/09 WJAC-TV SUPPORTS THE JOHNSTOWN JETS
Jim Edwards of WJAC-TV Channel 6, Johnstown has made the Jets an offer they wouldn't refuse. After sending an email to the station requesting support for the Jets, Jim called to let us know that he and the station support our endeavor to bring Junior Hockey to Johnstown. They have graciously offered to show the team and players as they progress throughout the season. They will be airing spots for the entire season free of charge. The Jets thank them for this amazing offer and support. We look forward to beginning filming at training camp.
MINOR-PRO BASEBALL IN JOHNSTOWN LENDS THEIR SUPPORT
The All American Amateur Baseball Association has invited The Jets Jr. 'A's Mascot to their playoff games on Friday July 24th. Our Mascot "Marley" will be on the field during the intermission between the 2 games being played. We will be tossing out t-shirts to the spectators and letting them know how much support of the community is needed. We hope it will be a great night for all, with some wonderful baseball to watch.

07/20/09 After an exhausting weekend of great tryout hockey action, the 2009-2010 Wooster Oilers are looking poised to take a run at the UJHL title!
" It may be a little early to say we can take a run at the title, but that is our goal of course" stated Oilers Director of Hockey Operations, Garrett Pierce. " After looking over the players that have commited, we will be in very good shape, I believe. We have a great mix of veterans returning and the coaching staff located and signed some great looking prospects" Mr. Pierce concluded.
When the dust settled late Sunday afternoon at the Alice Noble Arena, there were 22 committed to the Oilers for the upcoming season.

07/12/09 The UJHL and Thunder wish to congratulate former netminder, Jon Smarsh as he will continue his quest to the Pros with tryouts in the ECHL, CHL and SPHL. Jon had 5 games in the ECHL last season with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, farm team of the NHL Ottawa Senators and AHL Binghamton Senators.

07/07/09 The Johnstown Jets Junior are Rocking and Rolling as the Johnstown hockey tradition continues.
They have signed Anthony McDaniel a Goalie from Florida. Anthony played last year for the Wooster Oilers. The Jets have also signed Lucas Glass, a defenseman from Altoona, PA and played High School hockey for Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders.
07/06/09 The Thunder sign forward, Kyler Speice to the Thunder line-up for the 2009-10 season. Speice is a seasoned veteran of the UJHL as he played for the Wooster Oilers last season, but due to a bank injury was side lined for half the season.
07/04/09 The Wooster Oilers announce that their Main July Tryout Camp, at the Alice Noble Ice Arena, Wooster Ohio, is now open for registrations, and filling quickly! The dates will be July 17th, 18th and 19th. Spots for this tryout camp will be limited by position, and will be on a first to register, first taken basis! There will be a Friday evening goalie session ( Goalies will be evaluated by Scott Shantery, coach John Carroll University) with two Saturday sessions ( lunch will be served to the players after A.M session) and one Sunday A.M session.
